Yesterday we added five new accent pillows to our store! They include a blue striped pillow ($39.99), a colorful kaleidoscope pillow ($29.99) and a leopard print pillow ($29.99).

      

We’re also offering two new Limited Edition throw pillows — a multi-colored geometric print pillow ($29.99) and a pink pillow ($29.99). We were only able to get our hands on a few yards of these beautiful fabrics, so shop now before they’re all gone!

   

As always, you can order these styles as complete pillows or order the pillow covers only and use your own insert or stuffing.

We got an email today from West Elm about their armless sectional and how it’s now available in leather. While the original sectional was nice, it is much more appealing in the dark brown leather finish. It’s a little on the expensive side (most leather sofas are) but it would make a wonderful addition to any modern living room. I like the fact that it has metal legs — they look clean while keeping the couch up off the floor, so it’s less of a dust trap. The leather is treated to repel water, which might make this a good couch if you have kids in your home.

They show it with a snakeskin-inspired pillow, but I think it would look even better with a few of our Ocean Blue decorative pillows. The chocolate brown and pale blue color combination is one of my favorites because it’s contemporary yet retro at the same time. And the quilted, 3D look of these pillows would contrast nicely with the sleek, smooth texture of the leather. Plus, our pillows use fabric made from recycled plastic bottles — how eco-friendly! You can order them as complete pillows or just purchase the covers to use your own pillow insert. Use an organic bamboo insert and this could be the most “green” pillow ever!

We are close to having two new decorative pillows for sale in our online store:

The first is a bright and colorful geometric print pillow made of 100% cotton. It’s a really fun pattern and would make a great addition to a child’s room or even in a living room that has a somewhat boring sofa. The overlapping circles are reminiscent of the gyroscopic art pieces that I used to make as a kid — I can’t remember what the name of that spinning drawing tool was, but if you do, please let us know in the comments.

The second new style is a striped throw pillow in muted blues and yellows. The fabric is a blend of linen and rayon, so it has a really soft feel but without the wrinkly quality of pure linen. I love the varying widths of the stripes and the fact that the pattern doesn’t seem too nautical despite its color combination. This pillow would look fantastic in a beach house, a man’s bedroom or on a neutral colored couch.

Both of these pillows should be available before the end of June. The gyroscopic print pillow will be priced at $29.99 and the blue striped pillow will be priced at $39.99.

We recently got an email from someone who wanted to order one of our decorative pillows, but in a 14″ size instead of the 16″ size that we generally offer. The easiest way to do this is to order our “Build-Your-Own” pillows in the size you prefer (14″, 18″ or 20″) and then tell us which fabric you want to use in the Comments section of the checkout process.

Of course, you can also use our custom pillow option to have us create something completely unique using fabric that you provide. It can be anything from fabric you’ve purchased at a store to an old football jersey to a baby blanket — the possibilities are endless and you’ll end up with pillows that are truly one-of-a-kind!
